River Cruises
Experience the spellbinding
combination of the mighty Zambezi River and the
extravagance and gracious hospitality of the African
Queen or African Princess river-boat cruise. Drive down
the Royal Mile to the marina and board the vessel at the
same spot where King George and Queen Elizabeth embarked
and follow the same river route taken by them during
their visit to Livingstone in 1947.
Exclusive Livingstone Island
Livingstone Island is located in the
middle of the Zambezi River, on the edge of the Victoria
Falls, where the water thunders down the 100m drop. It
is here that Dr Livingstone first looked over the edge
of the falls into the gorge below, and wrote: “scenes so
lovely must have been gazed upon by angels in their
flight.” Access to this unique island is seasonal and
depends entirely on the water flow in the Zambezi River.
Angling and Fly Fishing
The upper Zambezi is home to the
Tiger Fish, rated as the finest sporting and fighting
fish in the world as well as 15 species of Bream,
including the Pink Happy, Three-spot Bream and the
Nembwe as well as Yellow Fish, Barbel, Bottlenose,
Squeaker and Labeo. In total there are over 75 species
of fish lurking in these waters. Angling in this part of
the world consists of fly-fishing, spinning and
bait-fishing.

Victoria Falls Steam Railways Ltd
The Steam Locomotive 156 is a 10th
Class originally belonging to the largest private
railway network in the world, Zambezi Sawmills Limited.
It was used on the Mulobezi Line to pull logging
carriages from the forests in Mulobezi to the railhead
in Livingstone. Guests will be picked up driven to the
Railway museum, where, on arrival, they will be treated
to a guided tour in the old locomotive shed before
departure to the Victoria Falls Bridge.

Bridge Tours
Designed by Sir Ralph Freeman, who
designed the Sydney Harbour Bridge, this engineering
feat linking Zimbabwe and Zambia spans 152 metres. It
was Sir Cecil John Rhodes, who wanted the “spray of the
Falls on the train carriages” that conceived the idea –
even though he never visited the Falls and died before
construction of the Bridge began. You now have an
opportunity to encounter her architecture and
engineering by walking the historic catwalks as history
is brought to life on a journey of discovery.

of Angels” when you witness the power of the Victoria
Falls from the air.

the game. The area is home to wild elephant, white

White Water Rafting
This is a once-in-a-lifetime
opportunity to raft what is considered the wildest
one-day white water rafting experience in the world.
Rafting starts with rapid number 1 (Paddy’s Folly) wit
the top section of the Batoka Gorge (rapids 1-10)
featuring the greatest concentration of grade four and
five rapids anywhere in the world. The bottom section
(rapids 11 to 21) is gentler in nature, except for the
world famous rapid 18, affectionately known as
“Oblivion”.

Jet-Boat Extreme
Feel the wind in your hair and the
cooling spray as you hurtle along at over 80km/h towards
a series of spine-chilling rapids, buzzing rocks and
jet-spinning on the mighty Zambezi River, in the
spectacular Batoka Gorge below the Victoria Falls. These
6m-long jet-propelled boats with Chevy engines, equating
to an awesome 338hp, are capable of taking 11
passengers. These jet-boats “play” between rapids 23 and
“open season” which is approximately rapid 27. |
Jet-Boat – Heli Combo |
This option follows the jet-boat
itinerary, but includes a thrilling helicopter transfer
from the helipad after your “stabilising drinks”. The
pilot then treats you to a spectacular flight at water
level, then up out the gorge past sheer cliffs, then up,
out of the gorge at tree top level, with a short ‘flight
of the angels’ above the Victoria Falls before landing
at Maramba airstrip, This activity combines numerous
exciting experiences!
Abseiling, Gorge Swing And Flying Fox
Over the edge! Like an alpine
mountaineer, abseil backwards or rap-jump forwards down
the gorge, for approximately 50m. Or launch yourself
off the edge in a full body harness and free fall for 53
metres, the gorge swing ends with numerous pendulum
swings before you are lowered into the gorge for your
walk out. For a not-so-scary experience, the Flying Fox
is a cable-slide allowing you a view of the gorge from a
seated or face-down flying position.
Bungee Jumping |
“Five, four, three, two, one,
bungeeee!” At 111 meters, it's one of the highest
commercial jumps in the world, so hurling yourself off
the Victoria Falls Bridge is definitely for adventure
thrill-seekers only! With the Victoria Falls behind you
and the mighty Zambezi River below you, this is not just
any bridge and the jump is certainly not for the
faint-hearted! Choose between a single jump on your own
or a tandem jump with your partner.
