The Table Bay Hotel

The Today Show Wraps Up Round the World Trip In Cape Town

Sun International’s Table Bay Hotel on Cape Town’s waterfront was the final stop on NBC’s Today Show segment “Where in the World is Matt Lauer?”

NBC chose the Table Bay as the ideal location to base their productions as they filmed the vibrant Cape Town area.

Matt Lauer culminated a full-week of travel around the globe for his popular Today Show segment “Where in the World is Matt Lauer,” with a dockside stage outside Sun International’s beautiful Table Bay Hotel, located between the sparkling bay and grand Table Mountain. He was joined by Today Show correspondents Giada DeLaurentiis, who braaied (barbecued) with Table Bay’s Chef Nicholas, and Tiki Barber.

The Today Show is unparalleled in its ratings dominance in the morning news arena, serving as America’s overwhelming favorite for 11 consecutive years. Matt Lauer has been an anchor on the show for the past 10 years.

“If I could find a way to commute between Cape Town and New York, I will move to South Africa in a heartbeat” – Matt Lauer.
