A typical two day three night itinerary at Mala Mala

Summer (September - May)

DAY 1:

- On arrival at MalaMala Game Reserve, you will be met by the ranger who will act as your host during your time at the reserve. Following registration, you will be shown around the camp and to your allocated rooms.

- A delicious buffet lunch is served from 13h30 in the attractive, air-conditioned dining room, or on the large safari deck overlooking the Sand River.

- Relax, unwind and enjoy the beginning of a wonderful 2 days in the bush. Feel free to explore the camp but please do not walk beyond the camp perimeters unless accompanied by a ranger.

- 16h00: refreshments will be served on the safari deck followed by the afternoon game drive. Remember to bring along your windbreaker, cameras and binoculars.

- The suggested maximum number of guests per Landrover is 6. Rangers and trackers will be assigned to host you for your entire stay in the camp.

- At sunset, stop off in the bush, and while sipping your “sundowner” watch the sun as it sinks into the dusty horizon.

- As darkness approaches, the tracker will scan the bush with a powerful spotlight and will point out the elusive nocturnal wildlife - a highlight of the day’s safari.

- The Landrovers return to camp at approximately 20h00, allowing you time to freshen up before meeting your ranger for pre-dinner drinks in the cosy Safari Bar.

- Dinner is served in the reed enclosed “boma” under an ancient Transvaal Ebony tree. While seated around a log fire under the starry African sky, enjoy the superb food and excellent wines - yet another highlight of the MalaMala experience.

DAY 2:

- You will be woken at 05h30 and tea, coffee or fruit juice together with a light snack is served on the deck at 06h00. The early morning game drive follows.

- 09h30: Approximate time of your return to camp. A hearty breakfast awaits you in the main dining room or on the safari deck overlooking the Sand River where animals regularly come down to drink.

- Should you wish, a bush walk after breakfast will be organised by the rangers. Alternatively relax around the pool, browse through the safari boutique, work out in the small gym or perhaps take a siesta to make up for that early morning wake-up call!

- Lunch is served at 13h30.

- 16h00: Once again meet for tea on the verandah before departing on another unforgettable safari.

- As darkness settles over the bush, look out for the Milky Way - a truly spectacular sight - or try to find the Southern Cross.

- Return to camp for a delicious dinner, prepared especially for you by the MalaMala chef and his culinary team.

DAY 3:
